decir que no a todo.
note to self: stop flailing and looking awkward in photos.

i have officially been sick in one way or another for about three weeks now. it is getting ridiculous. currently i have some kind of head cold thing that has impaired my hearing with hilarious consequence. you know when yr ears are popping and everything sounds like it's underwater??...that has been my life for the past 48 hours, no joke. i'm never sure if i am shouting at people or barely being audible. try that when working in a clothes shop and studying languages, it's fun.
turns out i didn't even need the second injection on thursday as i'd already had it. that definitely sucks, considering the fact that since then, my right arm has been swollen up to popeye proportions and absolute agony to have attached to the rest of my body. getting dressed and undressed(woe is me, no sexy undressing time??...oh wait, that never happens anyway:]) have become my worst enemy, hence the need for comfort at every turn...which is why this outfit is my new best friend (it's actually my work uniform). slouchy, soft and dark...i'm sold. also, i have wanted this circle scarf with tassels for so long now and it certainly does not disappoint in the warmth/comfort stakes.
i love this blog enough to pay it attention over my spanish assignments. (now can we have sexy undressing time??) oop.

hectic ducks and ominous clouds
sometimes on a day off, there is absolutely nothing better than taking a roadtrip to yr hometown and enjoying stormy beach walks, long lunches and forest adventures with two of yr favourite city boys. :] i have never experienced two people be quite so enthused about waves and ducks before...it reminds me to be so grateful to have grown up in such a naturally beautiful area.
today was such an awesome and necessary break...even if it did end with a doctor's trip for yet more injections. :[ i was only meant to get one but ended up with two sore arms cos the nurse realised i'd missed one and "might as well get it whilst about." yay??

i don't care...
...how absolutely mental lady gaga is. and i don't give a fuck that she is completely dead behind the eyes. the woman is an absolute machine.
...a machine with LILAC LIPS!! she makes me want to dye my hair blonde (oh wait...already tried that, worst 48 hours of my life...i remember now) and put lilac streaks in it. and wear lilac lipstick...as if my obsession with unnatural lip colours wasn't already verging on worrisome.
this is one of the few issues in life where my boyfriend doesn't concur. the only other i can think of is our very differing opinions on the influence of the glamrock movement on the origins of 80s metal and the true definition of "punk" as a concept and/or lifestyle.
he doesn't know what he's missing. :]

...yr still a heartbreaker and i'm just an idiot.
housemate's jumper, topshop vest, nanny's belt, h+m skirt, primark shoes.
yeh so i still have that aversion to looking at the camera and tend to awkwardly attempt to fix my hair mid shot. :]
i've been ill, but got convinced/coerced into going out tonight...which i can't really complain about cos i did have fun miscellaneous banter with people i hadn't seen in a while.
these pictures are just to illustrate two of the loves of my life right now.
first: this grey jumper that belongs to my male housemate (who's wardrobe is becoming my go-to zone for the cosiest and softest winter knits i've ever worn plus the most extensive scarf collection known to man). i have been wearing it for the past three days straight over all my outfits. it is just TOO comfortable and soft...like a hug. and really slouchy...i enjoy slouchy things, as i'm sure is obvious by now.
second: a black waisted cummerbund style belt my nanny gave me during the aforementioned clearout of her closet. she gave my little sister and i an absolute heap of amazing vintage belts and this is one of my favourites. i'll try to take some more detailed pictures of it tomorrow, along with some of the others.
my housemate's worklife is beginning to intertwine with the business transactions of my father!! how weird is that?? it does essentially mean i never have to pay for indian food again though, so no complaints here. :]
tonight i got called "boatwreck"...which was pleasant. but then some complete stranger girl told me she thought i looked like karen o (i think it's the new hair that does this...) and that she really like karen o and hoped i did too. which was a nice thing to hear, i think. :]

only wednesday and already this morning i woke up feeling as if we have had a sufficiently mental week...a little dull and drama-less existence wouldn't go amiss for a while, you know?? so i've reverted to "boring" things in hope that life will be a little less hectic. luckily for me, i find boring things are kind of the best things. tidying my room, drawing wolf outlines for a teeshirt for michael, making mixtapes and drinking tea. lots of tea. i had forgotten just how much i adore tea. this week's favourite picks being chamomile and vanilla, echinea and raspberry and green tea(as always).
my nanny gave me the most beautiful bracelet on sunday. it is jade and gold; she bought it when she was traveling in hong kong a few years ago and it is so delicate and mesmerising. i'm in love with it.
i wear so much gold now. i think i want to get a gold nose ring to wear instead of the silver one i have.

eye spy with my little eye...
exciting things in the future...
these are some of the vintage glasses frames i got that i have been talking about selling since forever ago. i'm in love with pretty much every single set, but to keep all of them would be excessive even for me:] i have a heap of classwork to do tomorrow aaand i promised my nanny i'd help her clear out her closet (seeing as i have a rare saturday off)...but hopefully i can also get pictures taken of some of these bad boys for selling. as per usual, any bloggers who are interested in a certain set; just drop me a comment or email and i'll sell them direct. they come with a free vintage case too!! i have no pictures of those yet but trust me, they're awesome.

dirtylittlewhirlwind...
i never really shop in topshop. i know, scandal...but generally i've always been of the opinion that the stuff is overdone, overpriced and sub-par in the quality stakes. so imagine my surprise as, yesterday, on my walk to work, i found myself unable to take my eyes off one particular item in the topshop window...this bra. umm...i NEED it in my life. all i want to wear for the rest of my life is this bra over a white vest top and skinny jeans. it is amazing.
payday can't come soon enough...only fifteen days!!:[

these are currently waiting patiently for me in the stockroom at work...until the 24th of october when i get paid and will (hopefully) be able to afford them. they are perfect. a few months ago i made an inward pact with myself not to buy anymore black shoes, but i'm making an exception. they're full on hooker shoes. anyone who knows me remotely well knows that hooker shoes are my achilles heel. also, that's an eleven cm heel. you should SEE how tall i am in them. i may just never take them off once they are mine.

dirty mirror kissers.
i found this giant mirror sitting in the hall of my mum and dad's house. it is amazing. i want to steal it but i'm pretty sure they would notice right away due to it's absolute gargantuan size. i tried to take some picture to show how huge it really is but they just don't do it justice. aaand it has the prettiest frame ever.
also, this is one of my favourite jumpers in the world. i picked it up in a thrift shop three years ago for just five pounds!! it's so comfy and so easy. :]
