arms.

things i am looking forward to (a lot):

1. the convict comes home in nine days:] this makes me ridiculously happy. i'm on my dad's laptop cos i'm t home and i was looking through all my old photos and suddenly realised that this is the first photo i ever took of him (right hand side, in odd "staring at crotch/floor" pose), not the one i had previously thought. it's at a party about a year and a half ago and i remember we called him the convict cos of his shaved head. do you ever see things like this and find it hard to believe that the person in the photo and the person you know now are actually one and the same??

2. PAVEMENT!! or, hopefully pavement, in may!! they're playing a gig in dublin in may and my bfff is going to try to get us tickets as my birthday present. imagine how close to complete my life would be if i got to see pavement live??...and buy a tee shirt??

yeh, that's right; i used a photograph of a piece of pavement with reference to the band. cos i had it on my laptop...and i imagine the experience of seeing pavement play live would be as exciting as this photograph is to look at (for me anyway). so sue me. :]

trapped in a basement...

this is what ensues if you go to the christmas market for a catch-up over strawberry beer and (too strong) cider, onward to tesco to purchase lemon birthday cake and other assorted birthday favors and then to the empty basement of magazine offices in order to surprise yr friend/the birthday boy at band practice. the last picture is of me in a discarded hallowe'en costume that we found in the basement from a "dead famous" party the magazine hosted in 2007. there is also a video of me smashing one of the cakes in his face, but i won't put it up as i don't think the interwebzz is ready for my horrible northern irish accent. :] especially at the moment as i have a throat infection and sound particularly croaky/husky/manly/sadly not sexy like other girls seem to sound in the same situation. swallowing is difficult. that will be all. :]

oh, also: it turns out this blog ALSO celebrated its birthday yesterday. how apt. so happy birthday blog...i am still not entirely sure of yr purpose. oh well. :]

hectic ducks and ominous clouds

sometimes on a day off, there is absolutely nothing better than taking a roadtrip to yr hometown and enjoying stormy beach walks, long lunches and forest adventures with two of yr favourite city boys. :] i have never experienced two people be quite so enthused about waves and ducks before...it reminds me to be so grateful to have grown up in such a naturally beautiful area.

today was such an awesome and necessary break...even if it did end with a doctor's trip for yet more injections. :[ i was only meant to get one but ended up with two sore arms cos the nurse realised i'd missed one and "might as well get it whilst about." yay??

my views on the BNP/question time debate:
that bonnie greer has got SASS!!
i would totally buck jack straw!!
:]
if yr not sure what i'm talking about click here. sorry it's a pretty old link but getting one with just the facts is pretty difficult. to find any articles on this subject that are not outrageously biased one way or the other is tough...there's plenty more follow up links from there.

also...booked my flights to see the boyfriend this week: 19th-23rd november!! happybat:]

homebird sing, leave out nothing, tell me everything...

in ireland, this is where i live...

please ignore the dirty post-storm beach though, it's not always like that i swear. i just thought i'd take a moment to share some of my friend ger's photography. he's just under two months off finishing a 365. sorry these are pretty much all of me, but i wasn't sure how other people would feel about me posting their faces here.:]

you can see the other, more interesting stuff at so-says-gerard.

(last night out together at easter, pukkelpop 2008, midnight in belfast last summer).

alcoholiday...

the dazzling conor...who is so dazzling he was featured in the fashion section of this magazine...but i can't find the photos of the actual spread.

crunk faces with michael...who went to a gig i couldn't attend (though i went to see a friend's band play a fantastic show instead) and also got papped by the same magazine.

a birthday picnic in the park for ella's 21st birthday!! featuring the best mexican ever and an exciting diy cake.

me being very mature during the birthday cookie baking experience.

pac man cookie!! which i owe him more of...there, now you have it in writing, happy??

belfast sight seeing with the lovely cristina who visited from spain!! this is the sad fish.

a little hit of nostalgia on the walk to my old house...my brother's tag. when i see these in belfast they make me smile cos i remember the night he drew them during one of his visits home from amsterdam.

ella's amazing vest...that we like to consider an homage to david bowie. i think it's from asos.com.

a sketchy night out with two of my boos and future housemates!!:]

easter sunday at my house with my lovely english guests, before we all had a wee bit too much wine and champagne. :/

all in all i had one of the best easters ever!! it was so great to just get to catch up and hang out with my friends and family again. sadly all the pretty scenic photos i have from my mountain adventures etc were on a disposable camera. i can't wait 'til my mum sends me the prints from it!!

i am currently fighting my way through an evil philosophy of law essay which i need to have finished by sunday in order to start all my other work. and i have essentially put myself under house arrest as i am without my flatkeys and all my flatmates have gone away for a festival this weekend without leaving me a set. :/ i may go stir crazy.

i have exciting things to blog and exciting things going on in life in general at the minute though. for tomorrow.

"they speak american, idiot!!"

say hello to jonathan duane bradley esquire...aka "boyface":].

all from topman as far as i can remember.
"awk, hiya!!":]

this, ladies and gentlemen, is my best friend in the whole wide world...my n.o.b...one of the few people who has floated around in my life for a DECADE!! he keeps me on the straight and narrow and doesn't even mind when i call him a thousand silly nicknames (though maybe only because he has as many equally stoopy ones for me).

and i'm sure you'll agree, he has pretty awesome taste in clothing to boot!! and was nice enough to let me take a wee photo of him in his formal/graduation attire to post on here despite the fact that it evidently made him quite awkward. also, shoes are missing because he hadn't bought them yet but they were lovely brown ones.

anyway...i am now back in (not as sunny as it should be:[) espana...so regular posting including a wee catch up will resume over the next few days. i have something exciting to show off!!

hope you are all well and that easter was as great for you as it was for me!!:]

i'm so clever, oh but clever ain't wise...

zara dress, jonathan aston tights, babyshambles tee shirt (attacked with scissors), primark mens cardigan (stolen from gavin).

i've literally just had one of the best weeks ever!! from days spent reading and lying in the sun at the harbour, burritos and coffee dates with my dad, mountain walks and breakfasts/lunches with my mum, wee nights out dancing and watching a friend's band, nights in with my boos, a birthday cake and chill out time in the park and a pin-up themed fancy dress party...all in all, a ridiculous amount of fun!!

i'll put up a few photos as soon as i get the chance...but for now i'm going to make some hot chocolate and curl up in bed with a book...as this is my first chance to get an early(-ish) night since last wednesday!! also...i figured i'd post a quick outfit. i got the babysambles tee shirt two or three years ago at a gig but haven't worn it in ages...so i decided to cut it into a shape i might wear a bit more often. i had to put the little fabric star over the "u" to clam my mum down when i first got it, hee. :] the world may disagree, but i think pete doherty is amazing!!

now you know me better baby i'm a quitter...

okay so i got tagged aaand awarded by the lovely sophia of tictactomato to do the show your heart tag and the questions tag. however...at the moment my camera is powerless and i am using my dad's laptop so for now i can only really do the questions tag. hopefully i will be able to post the other tag and maybe some exciting ireland pctures sooooon.

What is your current obsession? baking!! i am going to bake easter cookies with my sister soon and i have a million other ideas of things i want to bake.
What are you wearing right now? a huuuge red plaid shirt stolen from my friend jay with a bow at the neck, wooly tights and my falling apart studded booties.
Who was the last person you hugged? i hugged my daddy goodnight a minute ago.
If you were a tree, what tree would you be? at this precise moment in time, either a cherry blossom tree or a weeping willow. don't ask me why for either cos i have no clue. :]
What’s for dinner? tomorrow=my mum's veggie lasagne and i cannot wait!!
What was the last thing you bought? a bus ticket home.
What are you listening to right now? animals by cocorosie.
What is your favourite weather? crisp, cold but DRY autumn mornings or evenings make my life!!
What’s on your beside table? some jewellery boxes, a lava lamp, a bombay sapphire lamp, old bottles with candles in them, alarm clock, glass of water and many books, graphic novels and cds...i ought to tidy. :/
Say something to the person/s who tagged you. sophia...i'm so glad you found me, your blog is so sweet and i am quite jealous of your obvious artistic skillzzz!!
If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where would you want it to be? stockholm!!
Where are you typing from right now? father's laptop.
A book you're currently reading? i've been rereading the bell jar as i didn't bring enough books to spain with me. also the second volume of top ten (i tend to always have a novel and a graphoc novel on the go at the same time, oops). and at the weekend i read howl, ashamedly for the first time ever and i am now in awe.
What would you like to have in your hands right now? the ability to handle all the things i am currently a shamm with much more successfully!!
What is your favourite tea flavour? too hard it depends on mood...regular, green, chamomile, peppermint...i just love tea in general!!
What did you eat for breakfast? banana on toast VERY quickly cos i overslept and was late for a dentist appointment. :/
What did you want to become as a child? a singer, a clothing designer or an aeronautical engineer like my dad...lawl!!
What is your fantasy? to be well travelled, well informed, content in a house filled with charmingly tacky things...and to be really understood, even if only for one small moment in my eentire lifetime.

and now i would like to tag:
rachie pie.
lauh-ren.
valentina.
aaandella...who is actually one of my best friends who now follows this blog (and is yet to make fun of me for it, how nice:]) but who i am now going to bully into posting on her own blog!! [i love you really boo<3]

anyway off to bed i go...tomorrow i am clambering up some mountain with my mum and her friend who wishes to practice her spanish with me. clearly nobody told her how bad i am. :]

werewolf...

long time no talk. i apologize for the much longer haitus than planned but after the events mentioned in the last post and just general HELLA schoolwork times...i literally had no time to blog. and the only downtime i did make use of, was spent with my lovely bally-boo...who flew aaaall the way from france to rescue me from a boredom breakdown...aka eat pizza, watch musicals and talk about how shitty boys are with me!!:]

anywaaay...this weekend we have an unexpected (well, i hadn't known about it:]) puente so i figured i'd catch myself up on all the basics i would be replenishing if i had a single penny/cent to my name...
am wants.
miss selfridge denim bikerjacket, oversize sweater, vintage tutu netting, aa cardigan, oversize pocket vests, rayban clubmaster and rx, office pelvis creepers.

i am going through a phase where i generally feel i have nothing to wear. this tends to happen when i go through major life changes. i want a complete wardrobe overhaul...which probably won't be possible until i am back in ireland in summer. until then i am making do with the fuzzy feeling i get when considering how much of my closet i am bringing back and leaving in ireland at easter. if i have time, i will be using that three week break to sell a lot (and i mean A LOT) of my stuff.

i am completely in lust with the miss selfridge denim biker jacket. it's not actually on sale yet but when it is it will only be a mere £45, which i will not have. most upsetting. the other stuff is just a mixture of basics i need to rebuy (vests/cardigans) and items i have longed for at length but will most likely never own (the creepers). oh, and i don't know if it's a personal spring trend...but i am obsessed with the thought of making dresses out of slouchy sweaters and vintage net tutus for spring.

as for the glasses...i actually already have a pair of wayfarers (that i love and need to get back of a certain male come easter) but i am in the middle of another wave of a recurring obsession for rayban prescription lenses. ideally, i want a pair of frames that look like clubmasters but have transparent plastic where the gold is. i have wanted these forever...the search is not proving fruitful. so this is my plea for help...if anyone knows where i could get them, hit me up!! they don't have to be rayban, that's just the closest i can get to describing them. if you have seen the film grey gardens, then what i am trying to say is "i want a pair of glasses identical to mother's!!"

it's good to be back!!:] i hope everyone is doing amazing and looking forward to easter!! i can't wait...i'm back in ireland for a few weeks holiday in eight days!!
